Mayhem in Medewi

Just a quick note to let you know that the Wayang Ombak team is currently following a 9ft swell from Medewi, Bali to G-Land in East Java over the next few days. Today at Medewi beach saw some fair sized waves and a lot of people had a good session when the break was on this morning. Wipeouts were spectacular, including some from the Wayang Ombak team. The weather too was perfect; sunny with a light breeze holding the waves up nicely for the twenty or so surfers spread across Medewi’s three main breaks. For those that don’t know Medewi, it’s a sleepy little village a couple of hours from Denpasar, Bali’s capital. With great people and a friendly atmosphere it’s a relatively unknown gem on the north west coast, a world apart from the crazy Kuta. We’ll keep you posted on our progress…
